Upright Noble Zen

Upright Noble Zen is a hybrid community of practitioners based both online and in Anchorage, Alaska. Together we co-create and maintain a space where sincere practitioners can engage in genuine practice, and where newcomers, including those from any or no faith tradition, can safely explore all that Zen, Buddhism, and meditation have to offer.

Our main offering is the Sunday Evening Program. If you are new to us, we recommend attending this first. We also offer early morning sitting five days a week and frequent opportunities for retreat practice.

Dana Kojun Lederhos-Hull is a nationally recognized Zen Sensei who lives and works in Anchorage and provides leadership for this group. Kojun’s  background includes fourteen years of full-time monastic training as well as prior retreat offerings in California, Washington, Oregon, British Columbia, and Alaska. In 2012, Kojun was recognized as the first Dharma Successor of Chozen (Jan) Bays and Hogen Bays in the lineage of Maezumi Roshi. She is a member of the Soto Zen Buddhist Association, the Northwest Dharma Association, and the White Plum Asanga.
